"I'm lookin' at the man in the mirror. MJ taught me that"

Sorry about my blogging hiatus. I didn't feel inspired for a really long time, but that's over now thank God! It was the worst writers block, well it was bloggers block actually. That's not the point though!

Back to my original point however, I stumbled upon this Lil Wayne video for his song Mirror, featuring Bruno Mars.. I LOVED it!!! It's such a beautiful song and I love the paint it's association with pain/blood. I thought it was very telling of the hard life Lil Wayne has led. PLEASE watch it, I love it and if you like good music you'll like it too:) Also, Lil Wayne haters- do not post mean comments about him because they will only piss me off and I'll remove them haha

VALENTINES DAY!!!- woo. freaking. hoo.

Ok for those of you who are only slightly bitter (and by slightly I mean monstrously and enormously so!!) about Valentines Day, you will understand my pain. Stop talking about it to people who don't respect the stupidity of such a 'holiday'. Are you aware of what holiday means? It means holy day, and Valentines Day is not holy in any way. I realize I sound like an old lady who has more cats than she has men in her life.. but really I am not fucking kidding here, I am so annoyed with Valentines Day. I spent today being sick and not only that but I got a bunch of texts (some from people I don't even talk to!!) saying Happy Valentines Day. This dumbass day doesn't even mean anything!!! It's such a waste of time, money, and effort. I am in such a bad mood, can you tell? And I just logged into my blogger account to find nothing but Valentines posts. So, stop, ok? Just stop it! No one cares.... I am seriously debating whether or not I should erase this whole thing or post it..... I think I'm gonna post it. Don't judge me. I'm sick and in a very bad mood...

"Cause baby we'll be at the drive in the old man's ford behind the bushes till I'm screaming for more down the basement lock the cellar door and baby.. TALK DIRTY TO ME!!"

For some reason I am really liking the Poison song Talk Dirty to Me.. why I don't know. Because I personally always thought that Poison was just a Guns N Roses ripoff wanna be band. But however true this may be... they have some really great and catchy hits... geez, I just reread what I wrote... what is wrong with me?? But they are good songs. I feel guilty for liking Poison. Kind of the way I feel bad when I hear a Kesha song and love it. Something is wrong with me. Haha but atleast I know something is wrong with me! I guess that's a good thing, right? So, here is to you Poison, and all those who for some reason like you, I am one of those people strangely enough...

"She's been a crazy dita, disco diva and you wonder who's that chick? Too cold for you to keep her too hot for you to leave her. Who's that chick? Who's that chick?"

I have yet another outfit post to do, this is from a week or two ago and I am behind in that I haven't put it up yet, but oh well! This outfit was very much inspired by the Betsey Johnson spring/summer 2012 line, which I absolutely love!!! The cream colored sweater, the pink tank underneath, the green skirt, bow topped cream flats, black tights, and even my hair and makeup is all very Betsey. The pink, green, cream, and black color palette was the one used in Betsey's fashion show for spring, and in the show, part of the look was to be able to see the brightly colored bra (so I made mine peek out at the top of course! I have to think "what would Betsey do?"). In addition to this, the whole line had a very rocker-girly feel combined with a forties inspired look. The hair from the show was like my hair in these pictures, all pinned to one side and curled (which I LOVE, and is so forties). The tights from the show had the true retro feel because they had the lines up the back of the leg and everything! Wouldn't expect Betsey to be anything less than authentic of course! And true to Betsey's look for this spring I had a bright shock of lipstick on, unfortunately these pictures were taken later in the night so the lipstick had faded by then! The earrings I wore are a pair I really love and hardly ever get to wear due to their unusual color. I think they kind of pulled the whole outfit together! Anywayys, I love this look, I LOVE the line it was inspired by, and I am very proud of this outfit if I do say so myself! Hope everyone has a good upcoming week, and remember, leave comments:)

On me:
Sweater: Loft
Tank: Aeropostale
Bra: Victoria's Secret

"All you need is love."

The Beatles truly were right when they sang this. Emotionally, all you need is love. But however right they were, and however powerful and wonderful love is, it is not the topic of this post. The topic for this post is quite the opposite of love, and yes you guessed correctly, it is hate. Hate. Also a very powerful thing, and when used by people it is sometimes considered a wonderful thing. But it is most certainly anything but wonderful. Have you ever stopped to think what hate means? Well, I took the liberty of looking up the exact definition on Dictionary.com and this is what I found:

to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest: to hate the enemy; to hate bigotry.

Hate is such an intense emotion, yet it is one so very accepted. It is accepted that everyone has enemies whom they hate. And enemies are one thing I suppose. But have you ever stopped to think how much you use hate? When you are walking down the halls at your school or work place, and you see people you know or know of. They might get blasted with a hateful look, but was it you who gave it to them? And you may or may not think a look can say everything but it can, believe me. Other times, it is just the sense one gets that they are hated by the masses, or even just a few people, hated because of jealousy or rivalry or a million different stupid things. Those of you who have been on the receiving end of this know eactly what I'm talking about. We say we hate people all the time, I know I do. But have you ever stopped to hear the words coming out of your mouth? People say things like, "I hate that girl, she's such a slut." or "I hate him, he thinks he is the best thing to happen to the Earth." or "Have you seen that kid I babysit for? I hate him, he's so annoying and dumb." Generic as they may seem, these are comments that everyone has heard before. But do you even know who you're hating? Hate is just a tool, a tool that you use, and sometimes you use it without knowing. But you use it none the less. You have no way of knowing how your hate is affecting that person. You have no way of knowing what is going on in that person's life. Do you like it when people hate you? Because I know it does not feel good at all, it feels terrible. And when someone is hated enough it starts to wear on them. And they start to feel about themselves the way you feel about them. Would you want to make someone hate themselves? Hate is such a nasty thing, and we use it all the time. And in our soceity, in which insults have a much lesser meaning than they have in the past (Example: friends will call each other whore or bitch and it is not intended or taken in an offensive manner) hate gets thrown around a lot more. But next time you hear the words "I hate" starting to come out of your mouth, think about who you are hating before you voice this opinion. Think about what you are saying and how hurtful words really can be. And words can be so hurtful, but hate is one of the worst of them all and we use it ALL THE TIME. How is that right? I know we all like to think of ourselves as good people, but how can you honestly think you are a good person if you use hate to hurt people or control them or manipulate them, even if that wasn't your intension. Think before you speak. And we could all use a little more love, so tomorrow I want you to make an effort to speak to people and tell them they look good, or that you liked something they did, etc. Be genuine. You get my point, because as bad as hate is and as horrible as it can make you feel, think how wonderful love can make you and everyone else feel. It can make you feel so much better. So brighten someone's day tomorrow and smile instead of making their day worse by giving them a nasty look that says what words cannot. The Beatles, yet another nugget of wisdom they have left us: "All you need is love"

I must go to Tomorrowland! It is imperative!!

Soooooo.. Tomorrowland is this AWESOME three day festival in Belgium, it is a music festival and it looks so freaking fun. I WILL go one day, I already have two friends on board to go, I just need to get one of my friends to be cool with it and then I'll be set. I will be going one day! Here is the official after movie from last years festival. Makes me want to go so very badly. So in a year or two or three... I will be posting about how I went to Tomorrowland!

Crush of the Week!!!!

Oh so much to blog about, so little time! My crush of the week for this week is very cute, with an irrestible charm to him. I will admit that I really suck- I have only seen part of one of his movies. But whatever! This week's crush of the week is none other than....
Clint Eastwood!!
Yay for him, he is awesome and very ruggedly handsome might I add. He is such a badass- the kind of man I am atraacted too. Plus, in his prime he looked like a freakin male model!! How can anyone beat that?? I won't drone on about him, I just think he is very hot in a way that truly only Clint Eastwood could be! \

"She comes in colors everywhere, she combs her hair, she's like a rainbow, coming colors in the air oh, everywhere she comes in colors."

This look is one of my most favorite for spring, I am so excited about it! And since spring and summer looks are usually shot in the winter months, I thought this was a perfect post to do! I lovee the hippie bohemian feel of the look, plus the necklace has 'fairy dust' in it, or green glitter. Which ever you prefer to call it! Haha, I lovee this look because it was inspired by the 2012 Spring/Summer collection from Dsquared2 (A line that I will for sure be posting about later!!) Anyway, I made the transformation from day to night with the outfit by replacing my metallic sandals with black heels and a rocker (fake) leather vest. I was proud of this outfit because it is very late sixties/early seventies feeling, and very fashionable if I do say so myself... plus, I just like taking pictures of myself while I am dressed up:) so sue mee!

A Quote to the Wise

A few posts ago I did a quotes post and somehow this quote got left out.. so here it is! I love it so so so much. It's so funny, and totally something I would say if my life was like this guy's. Anyway, here's to being a tough badass but soft on the inside like Bobby from Supernatural:)

"Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes and she's gone.... Lucy in the skyy with diamonds!!" "I'm so lucky lucky I'm so lucky lucky I'm so lovely lovely I'm so lovely lovely!" "I have died every day waiting for you darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years I love you for a thousand more"

So for those of you who do not know, one of my best friends moved here at the beginnning of the year but she is going back to boarding school in New Zealand. And she loves boarding school, it's super super fun and she has lots of friends and she hates this town but she made friends here and now we are all going to miss her sooo much!! So this is a tribute post to her. Cullen I love ya! Cullie Cutie!

Cullen inspired me in so many ways, and one of those ways was music. She opened me up to music I have never heard. Here are just a few of the songs she introduced me to:

I'm so lucky lucky by Twice Lucky

Levels by Avicii

Don't Go by Josh Kumra

Party like a Millionaire by the Millionaires

Pop the Glock by Uffie

Stay the Night, also by the Millionaires

And here are some songs I already knew but cannot hear without thinking of Cullen:

Who's That Chick by Rihanna

Thousand Years by Christina Perri

I Feel Pretty from West Side Story... to hear Cullen completely botch this song.. it's a sound I'm going to miss!!:(

You're Beautiful by James Blunt. I am going to miss hearing Cullen make fun of this song sooo much!! She could sound exctly like James Blunt and would always randomly start singing "You're beautiful."

Looking at these make me miss you even more Cullen:(

 Cullen,
You have been such a great friend, knowing you has impacted my life so much and I am going to miss you soooo much!! The song quotes I put as the title are ones I chose because well.. lucy in the sky with diamonds is such a great song to describe your crazy fun personality! I picked the second quote because I truly do feel so lucky to have known you! I really do, you have helped make me be unafraid of what people think and taken me outside of my comfort zone! Thank you for that, I needed it! I also picked it because whenever I hear the song it just makes me think of you and makes me smile and makes me happy. And I don't think you would want me to just sit around and mope because I miss you. I think you would want me to look back and laugh! The third quote I picked is from yet another song that reminds me of you! It is my sad song that makes me think of you and makes me want to cry because it makes me miss you! It's hard to imagine you're leaving!
Thank you for all the music you showed me and all the things you made me see that I could not see before! Thank you for all the fun times and the great memories (and pictures) you have left me with. You even made me love pictures! I'll never forget you and I love you!! Have a great time in new Zealand!!:D I hope you liked my tribute to you!! And by the way, I ALWAYS have Party like a Milionaire stuck in my head because of you now! Tell Alice I said hello!
Love you,
             Ms. Charlotte

3 more Crush of the Weeks!!!

Crush #4: Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes in the Sherlock Holmes films. HOT HOT HOT!! I loveeee Sherlock Holmes and I love Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of him. Holmes is swift, cunning, dashingly handsome, sexy, witty, wildly enchanting... I could go on, but I might bore you if I did. I just love the character, and mysterys are my absolute favorite so another plus:) Yay for Sherlock!

Crush Number 5

Sal Mineo as Angelo or 'Baby' as he was called. I thought this was a great performance on Sal's part. His emotions felt so true and real. They were well conveyed, and of course 'Baby' made the list because he was so cute!! I have always thought Sal was so so so cute, but in this film his character felt so young and vulnerable and he was like the cute puppy dog you fall in love with! Awww Sal, I love you!

Crush Number 6!
William from Almost Famous played by Patrick Fugit.. so cute. He was so naive and young in the movie, but he wasn't stupid, and ohmygoodness the experiences he got on the road travelling with the band! Oh lordd and the groupies... and Penny Lane. Poor little writer boy fell in love! But that's why I lov ehim he's kind of gullible and adorable and most mportantly a writer. And one of my friends has claimed the character as being her's. So Julie I admit that he will never mean to me what he does to you but I still lovee him too:)

6 Weeks Worth of Crush of the Week

By my calculations, I have six weeks worth of Crush of the Weeks to make up for. So get ready for a lot of hot boys and my opinions on all of them:) I have a theme for these Crush of the Weeks however: My crushes from movies, characters from movies that I absolutely adoredddd. Without further hesitation here they are, my movie crushes (or just a few..)

I will forever love Trip Fontaine (played by Josh Hartnett), the love interest of Lux Lisbon in the movie the Virgin Suicides. As the narrators of the movie will tell you, he emerged from baby fat to the delight of mothers and daughters alike. That's not a direct quote, but you get the point. I think I just love his appeal. His raw american 70's heart throb look, perfect mane, cherry red sporty car, overall sexiness, and his quiet appeal which leads girls to believe he has more going on beyond his great head of hair than one might think. And he did. He might have done every debaucherous and party boy like thing to do but he was somehow different, maybe it was he quietness, or something else I can't quite put my finger on, but it was something. That's probably why he was so perfect for Lux, because he was like her in the way that he had more going on beyond his looks-a uniqueness- that no one had ever really imagined or looked hard enough to find. Trip is the symbol of the perfect male companion when you are sixteen. Hot, young, a little sensitive, rich, and so many other things. He just had so much going for him, and he didn't even care, he was that cool that he didn't have to care. Ohhh Trip, I really have a huge crush on you, Lux was a lucky girl even if Trip ditched her in the end..

My next crush is Hawk from Detroit Rock City, played by Edward Furlong (the kid from Terminator 2). He is really very attractive in my opinion. And plus, our personalities are the same. Me and my two best friends always assign characters or what boy we would get in movies, bands, books, etc. And I am hawk! So, maybe it is a bit narcicistic that I like him so much but I do!! He is badass and cool and exactly the kind of cool I want to be! He has a completely smart mouth and he has a great way of being clever enough to get himself out of trouble which he usually gets himself into in the first place. I love Hawk:) Plus he is a lead singer, and I usually go for the lead singers! So cute, great character, from a great movie!

Crush numbero tres es...
Randall 'Pink' Floyd from the movie Dazed and Confused, played by Jason London. I think he is very hot, but along with hot I think he the perfect rebel! He is such a normal guy but so cute and funny and... wonderful. I am a little obsessed with this character I admit but I just love him because he is really laid back and that's so sexy on him:) Haha and my FAVORITE part of Dazed and Confused is when Pink throws that crumpled up pledge sheet back into his coach's car and says the words I will never forget "I might play ball, but I will never sign that." Oh so hot!! I loved him in that scene, he stands u to his coach, he does it all and looks good and only slightly hngover while doing it. Yay for Pink!

Ok so I know that I promised the six crush of the weeks that I owe but for now it has to be just three and I will do another three later, but I am not slacking, I just have really crappy waste of my time kind of homework. Sorry:(

"The sun is up the sky is blue it's beautiful and so are you dear prudence won't you come out to play?"

Let me first say, the quote for the title is my favorite Beatles song, I loveee it so much!! It reminds of the Virgin Suicides and every time I hear it I associate it with that movie and Lux (Kiersten Dunst's character). But enough of my rambling. I have gotten so into fashion, more than anyone could know. I have a subscription to Nylon magazine now and everything, so I will be blogging about fashion a good bit! My inspiration for this look was a wintery, early 60's or late 50's simple good girl look (or not haha). The dress is vintage, as is the belt (LOVEEEE the belt sooo much!!!), and the shoes are Ralph Lauren. The look I went for with my makeup was very clean and simple, focusing on long black lashes and a shock of red lipstick. My hair was all natural for that day, but I really really liked the feel of it and the way it looked all natural. It had this tiny bit of wave to it that I liked, it was very hippie hair almost. (Which would kind of clash with the rest of the look if you thought about it but I think everything complemented each other well!) This is probably one of my favorite outfits and one of the ones I most proud of! Hope you liked it my dears!!

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years everyone! Hope everyone had a great New Years Eve as well, I'm sure most people were out partying. But that's cool, one day I will be one of those people and I will be in Times Square to see the ball drop! But enough of that, I have decided that I am going to be doing some outfit posts so be prepared! As far as crush of the week goes, I will be making up for the missed weeks soon..
